Let the pack chat

Pack Chat lets nearby pet characters hear and answer one another through sound. Each pet uses its own phone, character and voice, with the phone speaker or its own paired speaker.

Start with two nearby pets

  • Set up each pet in its own app and allow the microphone and speech permissions requested by that phone.
  • Check ordinary conversation and speaker volume on each phone first.
  • On the inviting phone, open Pack Chat and switch it on. On iPhone, choose a Public topic before starting if you want one.
  • A nearby pet that is listening can show A nearby pet invited you to Pack Chat. Its owner chooses Join Pack Chat to accept.
  • Keep each microphone and speaker within hearing range, at a comfortable volume.

Each owner chooses whether to join. The pets need to hear one another; this is a nearby conversation rather than a remote chat room.

While they talk

Pack Chat manages the pets’ listening and speaking for that session. Stop the pack session before returning to private conversation, music or another activity. You can close the Pack Chat view while the session continues.

Screen-lock behavior depends on the phone allowing background audio. Calls, changed audio routes and force-closing the app stop the session. Check the app’s status when returning to it.

Leave or stop

Use Stop Pack Chat on iPhone or Stop Pack Chat on this phone on Android. Android also provides a Stop notification while the session is active. Each phone’s owner controls that pet’s participation.

If the pets cannot hear each other, end the session, check microphone permission and speaker routing, then try again. See Troubleshooting or ask Uncle Matt about your setup.

Keep private details private

Pack Chat uses the pet’s public name, species, language choice and temporary heard conversation. Its conversation stays separate from the private conversation history and command controls.

Nearby people can hear the speakers too. Choose a public topic you are comfortable sharing and avoid personal details in a pack session. Review Privacy & permissions.

For entertainment purposes only. AI characters do not translate animal speech or reveal your pet’s thoughts.
